Rivage Thalasso & Spa
The Rivage Thalasso & Spa in La Baule-Escoublac faced challenges with clogging and bivalve invasions in their intake screens and pipelines, which required significant maintenance and affected water availability. To address these issues, they decided to utilize the existing Enerplage® system on La Baule beach, installed in 2015, to obtain seawater naturally filtered through the sand and supply it to a heat pump.
In June 2021, ECOPLAGE carried out the necessary work to connect the Rivage Thalasso & Spa to the Enerplage® system.
Originally, the drainage system was installed to protect the main beach from erosion over a 1-kilometer stretch. The water from this drainage is partly used to supply the pools and to heat and cool the Aquabaule aquatic center. (En savoir plus)
Now, the connection to the Rivage Thalasso & Spa allows the facility to supply its pools with water highly filtered by the beach sand, preventing issues related to sediment, algae, and bivalve accumulation.
Additionally, a heat pump is supplied with this same seawater to facilitate thalassothermy.
The Enerplage® system also ensures a continuous seawater intake regardless of tide times and coefficients.
Key Figures:
- 1 week of work for connection
- 80m³ of seawater per day
- 45 meters of drains
- Supply to the pools and a 100kW heat pump
