St Raphaël Agay

Initial characteristics of the beach :

The beach of St Raphael Agay was suffering from erosion of 4000m³ per year with a shoreline retreat of 0,5 meter ; sand nourishments were made every year.

The works were carried out in 2013. The installation of the Ecoplage® system consists of :

• a drain of 600m on the upper part of the beach
• a gravity collector pipe
• a pump station hidden in the beach access stairs
• a discharge pipeline

Post installation :

• Stabilization of the shoreline
• Increase of 3 to 8 meters in beach width
• Cancellation of sand nourishment
• Faster beach recovery after storms
• Dismantling of groynes
